Full bio

Bev Stanton was born in the Bahamas and raised near Walt Disney World. After winning a Pocket Operator drum machine at a raffle during the NorthEast Electro-Music Festival, she was propelled towards a new musical direction improvising with small machines as opposed to producing tracks on a computer. The brains of her live performance rig is an MC-303 groovebox she bought in the 90s.

Performing DAWless sets keeps Stanton in the inspiration part of the creative process and provides the tactile sensation that is often missing when working in recording software. This commitment to hardware performance defines neon.bev.click: real-time improvisation, machines responding to touch, no computer layers between idea and sound. Her catalog spans releases including THAWless, Beginning of the End, Forever Alone, positive, and Law of Motion.

Her other projects include Arthur Loves Plastic, the ukulele-driven Sad Veiled Bride, shoegaze-influenced Loopurr, and the Novparolo duo with Winston Psmith. She has performed at NEEMFest (NorthEast Electro-Music Festival), the annual electronic music gathering at Homer Center for the Arts. Based in the Washington, D.C. area, Stanton continues to develop neon.bev.click as her primary electronic outlet, balancing experimental groove-box work with the broader experimental music community.
